Supporting Research
My

chosen city is Esmeralda, the

city of water. Also, this city in
Calvinos text is put in Trading
cities category.

To

make this city I had to

research and get to know about
futurism/modernism.
Nevertheless, this city is
dualistic, which means it has
two sides, such as light and
darkness.

So,

I did research and the first

thing that I thought of was
Venice.

Venice

is a wonderful city full of

colours: lights, reflection from
the water and so on. So, I
thought it would be similar to
that, buildings going to be in
water.

 Moreover,

this city has

dark side so, I thought that
I might give more
mysterious side to it too.
For that city I chose
something similar to
Assassin's Creed and
Bioshock: Infinity colours.

Nevertheless,

the city
reminded me of Tower of
Babel, some parts of the
city are destroyed because
of the slavery. Also, it
might represent
Metropolis movie when
you look at tall
skyscrapers.

Added

similar interior to
the catacombs, to give this
city ancient feeling. Mixing
the atmosphere between
ancient times and modern.
