Festivals in England
Christmas is annual holiday celebrated on December 25 th. Peope decorate their
houses and Christmas trees with lights and ornaments.

Halloween is celebrated on October 31st. That day, many people wear costumes
and the children ask trick or treat, house to house.

St Georges Day (23rd April). The legend is that St. George was a Roman soldier who
killed a dragon to rescue a princess. He is now the patron saint of England, and this is
Englands national day. You might still see St Georges Cross (a red cross on a white
background, Englands national flag) or events with morris dancing (an English folk
dance), but it is not a bank holiday and most people dont hold special celebrations.

Movember (All month November). If youre seeing more moustaches than usual,
youre not imagining it throughout November, the charity campaign
of Movember invites men to grow a moustache and raise awareness of mens health
issues.

ENGLANDS IMPORTANT PEOPLE


William Shakespeare (26 April 1564 23 April 1616) - was an
English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest
writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent
dramatist.
The Beatles - were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in
1960. With members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George
Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the
foremost and most influential act of the rock era.
Daniel Jacob Radcliffe (born 23 July 1989) is an English actor best
known for his role as Harry Potter in the film series of the same
name. He made his acting debut at 10 years of age in BBC One's
1999 television film David Copperfield, followed by his cinematic
debut in 2001's The Tailor of Panama.
