1
WHAT IS ISLAM?

•Islam comes from an Arabic root word i.e aslama

meaning "peace" and "submission."

•The religion of Islam is the acceptance of and

obedience to the teachings of God which He revealed to
His last prophet, Muhammad s.a.w.

2
TO KNOW GOD

He who created the eye of the mosquito

is the one who created the sun.

The very first revelation:

Read, in the name of your Lord, who created – created

human from tiny thing that clings. Read, for your Lord is
the Most Bountiful, who taught the use of the pen,
taught human what he did not know.
(96:1-5)

The use of pen: KNOWLEDGE

PILLARS OF FAITH
• Must be based on al-Qur’an & as-Sunnah
– 6 pillars of faith (rukun iman)

– Belief in Allah
– Belief in His Angels
– Belief in His Messanger
– Belief in His Books
– Belief in Hereafter
– Belief in Qada’ & Qadar

Adam a.s was sent charged with such a duty that the
unfolding of all mankind's spiritual progress and the
revealing of all mankind's potentialities and man's essential
nature being a comprehensive mirror to all the Divine Names,
are the results of it.

If Adam a.s had remained in Paradise, his rank would have

been fixed like that of the angels; man's potentialities would
not have unfolded.

Our journey began by Adam a.s

Dr. Maurice Bucaille said in his book "The Bible, the Qur'an and
Science", which was published by the American Trust Publications
1979:

"Thanks to its undisputed authenticity, the text of the Qur'an holds a unique
place among the books of Revelation, shared neither by the Old nor the New
Testament. In the first two sections of this work, a review was made of the
alterations undergone by the Old Testament and the Gospels before they were
handed down to us in the form we know today. The same is not true for the
Qur'an for the simple reason that it was written down at the time of the
prophet".
9
The Teaching in the Quran can be Divided into:

• Aqidah (freed man from worshiping other God than

Allah)
• Syariah (justice and mutual aid among men)

• Akhlaq (molding a well rounded personalities)

Could it be that in this context, some
long-term thinkers in Washington and
elsewhere have devised a strategy of
establishing US military control of all
strategic sources of oil for the one
potential power rival, Eurasia, from
Brussels to Berlin to Moscow and
Beijing? The dollar vulnerability and
debt problems are well known in
leading policy circles.
Can Malaysia succeed in
convincing the Islamic As Henry Kissinger once noted,
countries to revive their
'gold dinar' as a common "Who controls the food supply controls the
currency, as this is people; who controls the energy can control
'necessary' to get rid of whole continents; who controls money can
the influence of the west
control the world."
in trade and business
dealings, and other
economic issues.

Gold and silver are the most stable
currency the world has ever seen

From the beginning of Islam until

today, the value of the Islamic bimetallic
currency has remained surprisingly
stable in relation to basic consumable
goods:
A chicken at the time of the Prophet,
salla'llahu alaihi wa sallam, cost one
dirham; today, 1,400 years later, a
chicken costs approximately one
dirham.

In 1,400 years inflation is zero.

Could we say the same about the dollar

or any other paper currency in the last
25 years?

"You want to be radical?
You don't need to blow up the bank, just burn
your bank account.
For that you need an alternative.
What is the alternative?
E-dinar."

21
The success of the
gold dinar as a united
Islamic currency will
depend on the level of
demand of the
countries that want to
deal with it as the
primary currency in the
international
commercial dealings.

Malaysian Ex-Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad,

a big supporter on the subject of reviving 'gold
dinar', believes that this would help in containing the
dominance of the World Bank and the IMF in
economic and financial affairs of the Muslim world.

22
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Maryam meriwayatkan
bahwa beliau mendengar Rasulullah
salallaahu 'alayhi wasallam bersabda,

"Masanya akan tiba pada umat manusia,

ketika tidak ada apapun yang berguna selain
dinar dan dirham."

(Masnad Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal).

Malays are not lazy, says Najib
NST 03 Feb 2007
Shamini Darshni

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malays are not a lazy indigenous group, having proven
themselves over time in numerous fields, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib
Razak said yesterday.

He claimed the British had used the alleged indolence of the Malays as an
excuse to sideline them from the development process and prevent them from
holding down senior positions.

"Today, Malays have proven that since independence, they have succeeded in
holding important positions that have led to international recognition," he said
when asked to elaborate on a point he raised in his opening address at the Third
International Conference on Malay Civilisation.

Earlier in his speech, he said the stigma of Malays being lazy was a "baseless
myth".

Meanwhile, Najib outlined three strategies that could help create first-class
human capital, with the first being the development of human capital based on
Islam.

24
"That is why the family role is very important. Every Malay family should have
a deeper understanding of Islam (as) only with a good education and an
understanding of Islam, can we be a model Islamic country respected by both
friends and foes," he said.

The second strategy was to develop human capital which valued a sound
education.

"We can build civilisation with knowledge, and Muslims should strive to gain
deeper knowledge."

The final strategy was to develop human capital which practised an excellent
work culture.

"Excellence does not come in dreams or exist in a vacuum, but is the result of
hard work with a clear focus on principles, by having the right attitude and
holding on to good moral values," said Najib.

The conference was organised by Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris.

We are tested in
this world

become clarified,
purified, attain
virtue and
perfection
through our

We find trials
and tests in
every aspect of
our lives.

26
When you approach God by an arm’s length,
He approaches you by two, and if you come
to Him walking, He comes to you running.
(Hadith, saying of Muhammed)

27
28
Assuredly we will try you with
something of danger and hunger
and loss of some worldly goods,
and of lives and the fruits of your
labor. But give glad tidings to those
who are patient in adversity,- those
who, when calamity befalls them,
say, “Truly, to God we belong and, truly, to
Him we shall return.”

(2:155-156)

29
There is only one God, Allah, who alone is worthy of being
worshipped. Mankind has been guided at various times by
the messengers of Allah of whom the most prominent
were Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammed.

The final message was sent to the last prophet,

Mohammed, which replaces all previous messages.

Please save yourself by embracing Islam. 30
