Water Testing Instructions

1.Each group will be given a test strip
2.Dip the strip into your water sample
3.Record results on your worksheet
4.Interpret results as a class
Iron: Dip for 2 seconds, remove with pad face up, shake once to remove excess water
Copper: Swirl 10 times, remove with pad face up
6 test: Dip for 2 seconds, remove with pad face up, shake once to remove excess water

Infiltration
Water from collections soaks
into the soil and moves
through rocks, cracks, and
pore spaces.

Evaporation
Water in the liquid state is pulled out of the ground, oceans and lakes
and converted to vapor which is then brought to the clouds.

Transpiration
The way water evaporates through
plants.
Plants absorb water from the soil
through infiltration.
Transpiration occurs so water from
plants can go back into the water
cycle.

Condensation
Water vapor in the atmosphere (clouds) turns into water in a liquid
state leading to precipitation.

The journey water takes as it circulates from land to the sky and back
again.

This process helps purify the water.
