Congratulations! You and two fellow astronauts have been carefully


chosen by NASA to complete a mission to outer space and discover
more about planets of your choosing. Use the facts that you find from
the sources provided to write a well supported presentation to report
back to NASA and your fellow astronauts.
Good luck on your mission!

NASA recommends that each of the three astronauts in your


mission choose a planet to explore and report back on.
2. Once you have chosen your planet, use the sources provided to
answer the questions from the Discovering the Solar System
and any other information you would like to share from your
exploration.
3. Create a creative piece with your group about your experience in
space. Each astronaut should write a a six sentence paragraph
on the planet that they explored as well.

First, you will get in teams of 3.


Brainstorm together to decide which planet you each will be researching.
Explore the following websites to answer the questions sheet provided about the planet you
chose.

Use the facts that you learned about space from your exploration to write a creative
introductory paragraph about your mission.
Individually write a paragraph (6-7 sentences) about the planet you explored using the facts
from your discovering the solar system worksheet and any other facts you would like to
include.
Have one of your teammates proofread your paragraph, and proofread another astronauts
paragraph.
Combine the introductory paragraph with the three paragraphs, and with your teammates, write
a 2-3 closing paragraph.
Once you finish, you will submit your worksheet that you filled out as well as your creative
astronaut report to NASA.

The opening and closing paragraph of your creative narrative will


be graded as a group. However, the Discovering the Solar System
Worksheet and your paragraph on the planets of your choice will
be graded individually.

Congratulations and thank you for your service! You have
