Welcome to Griffin Middle


School!
My name is Mrs. Wooten and this will be my first year
teaching and I am very pleased to teach in such a
wonderful school.
I grew up and graduated from high school in Dallas,
Texas.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 24
years and have 3 children.
I look forward to working together with you all to
prepare for this transition into middle school!

Curriculum
This year my students will be exposed to a
rigorous curriculum.
We will use a variety of teaching techniques &
activities to explore social studies topics.
Students will be expected and encouraged to
continue their learning at home in order to fully
understand the concepts I teach in class.
Students will usually have two homework
assignments per week.
Students will need to be prepared to set aside
some time each evening for their studies.

Homework
Homework is assigned twice a week and is
posted each morning on the whiteboard & on
our class website located on:
www.griffin.k12.tx.us.
Students are responsible for copying
assignments into their planners & checking
our class website.
Homework is due the next day unless
otherwise instructed.

Projects and Trips


Various projects will be completed
throughout the year.
Field Trip to San Antonio (Exact Date
TBA).
Possibly one additional class trip. Details
to come.

Griffin Academy Awards---Historical
Reenactment Video Contest.

Additional Information
Daily grades, progress reports, and absences can
be found on the Home Access Center,
http://hac.friscoisd.org.
There will be at least two days of review before
tests.
I am available after school until 4:05pm for
students who need additional help.

Grading Scale
(Determined by the Texas Board of Education)

A = 90 -100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 80
F = 0 69
Progress reports keep you informed of
your childs progress.
