medical treatment, lost time from work, or restricted work activity.

2008 Baseline: 4.2 injuries per 100 full-time workers

Patient Handling Program, not only to address the burden of financial
losses due to occupational injuries, but to also deliver the
highest quality of care and safety to our patients.

Manual patient handling is unsafe and directly responsible for


musculoskeletal disorders among nurses.

Patient handling can be performed safely with the use of assistive


equipment and devices.

There exists a simultaneous reduction of risk for injury among


nursing staff and improvement in quality of care for patients.
