Business dress is determined largely by industry. The
banking finance and sales are more and often require a
suit, while technical staff will have more casual dress
code.

How do people dress on social


ocassions, e.g at an informal dinner?

DO PEOPLE LIKE A LOT OF


PERSONAL SPACE?
Traffic fines are high, especially offenses for
speeding and ignoring red lights (about 800
USD). Bribery of policemen is unheard of. The
legal blood alcohol limit, is 0,02 percent.

To celebrate an agreement you can make a dinner (about 20:00).
It is accepted that a foreign woman invites a Norwegian man to

If you want to make a gift the best is alcohol: quality wine,
whiskey or brandy.
If you give flowers that are not lilies, or white flowers as they are
used at funerals.

Many Norwegians have a reserved communication style
that can be interpreted as lack of interest, without it really
being so.
They have no difficulty in letting us know that they
disagree with something that has been said.
Communication is direct and based on facts, they do not
like precipitation.
