BACKGROUND AND EARLY LIFE


His birth name is Nguyen Sinh Cung which he later adopted the name
Ho Chi Minh which means: He who Enlightens

He was born on May 19th, 1890, and he died on September 2nd 1969.
Family: His father was a teacher, and his sister worked for the French
Army.

He was born in Vietnam.


As he became a young adult he got a job on a French ship as a cook
which he then traveled the world and ended up in France.

BACKGROUND AND EARLY LIFE


He was the founding member of the French-communist party.
In 1930 he founded the indo-Chinese communist party.
Spent 1930s in Soviet Union and China.
He returned home and founded Viet Minh, a communist
dominated independent movement.

POWER
He was a communist, and socialist.
He believed in dialectical materialism: political and historic
events result from the conflict of social forces.

POWER
Gained power after Vietnam gained independence from
France and split into North and South, he gained control of
the North from his influence in North Vietnam through the
communist parties.

He remained successful as the leader of the north until he


died on 1969. He led his native Communist party through
almost 40 years of success creating a state where none had
existed before devising a communist government to run it.

ENEMIES AND ALLIES


As Vietnam was a colony under France Ho Chi Minhs. France
was an enemy until Vietnam gained independence.

The united states was also an enemy during The Vietnam


War while he was the president of a communist North
Vietnam.

Ho chi Minh did not have any significant allies except all
communist in his communist party he did not seek help from
other countries.
