After
Sally leaves, Holden realizes he is hungry and goes to buy a Swiss cheese
sandwich and a malted milk.
Holden thinks that girls divide guys into two types, no matter what their

In other words, a girl will justify misbehaviour as part of an inferiority complex
for those she does like and for those that she doesn't like shell think they are
being conceited.
He decides to give Jane Gallagher another call but she didnt answer.
Holden then goes through his entire address book looking for someone to call.
Finally he decides to call Carl Luce, his academic advisor from the Whooton
School.
He arranges to meet Carl for a drink at ten oclock. Holden does not particularly
like Carl, but says he is in the mood for some intellectual conversation.
Holden then decides to see a movie at Radio City to pass the time.
A woman in the theatre cries throughout the movie and Holden notices her
ignoring her small child who want to go to the bathroom.
Holden sees her as another phony.
As Holden leaves the theatre, he thinks about war, since the film seems to deal
with the subject.
When he leaves the cinema, he is feeling even more depressed.
