 John 12:1-8

• 1 Six days before the Passover,

Jesus arrived at Bethany, where
Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had
raised from the dead. 2 Here a
dinner was given in Jesus’ honour.
Martha served, while Lazarus was
among those reclining at the table
with him.

• 3 Then Mary took about a pint of
pure nard, an expensive perfume;
she poured it on Jesus’ feet and
wiped his feet with her hair. And
the house was filled with the
fragrance of the perfume.

• 4 But one of his disciples, Judas
Iscariot, who was later to betray
him, objected (why this waste?),
5 “Why wasn’t this perfume sold
and the money given to the
poor? It was worth a year’s
wages.”

cared about the poor but because
he was a thief; as keeper of the
money bag, he used to help
himself to what was put into it.

7 “Leave her alone,” Jesus replied

day of my burial.

Jesus is

• No Revelation no Honour

• Tithes giving – is giving what is required.
• Resource giving – is giving from what you
have.
• Faith giving – is giving what you need and
trusting God to supply all your need.
• Future giving – is paving the way for tomorrow.
• Revelation giving – is giving all of the above
with understanding…is how you see yourself
before God. And how you see God in you.

 2. Be seasonal
• Understanding the times and
knowing what to do...always be
sensitive to God’s voice.
• John 12:8 You will always have
the poor among you, but you will

essential.

5. Don’t worry about pleasing
everyone.

• She surrendered her glory to the
Lord and worshiped Him with the
precious gift that she brought.
•Consider what is the right thing to do,
rather than what other people expect
you to do.

 6. Don’t listen to critics.
