Definition
Human Resource Management is concerned with
the people dimension in management. Since
every organisation is made up of people, acquiring
their services, developing their skills, motivating
them to higher levels of performance and
ensuring that they continue to maintain their
commitment to the organisation are essential to
achieving organisational objectives. This is true
regardless of the type of organisation
government,
business,
education,
health,
recreation or social action.

Importance of HRM
HRM reduces the costs associated with employee turnover and hiring new workers to
fill job positions. The goal of HRM is not only to ensure that employees receive fair
compensation for their work, but also to build a strong employer-employee
relationship and increase the level of employee satisfaction within the company.
HRM is also used to protect an organization from any accusations or legal action that
may be taken against it by an employee. Effective HRM can identify work issues
before they escalate and resolve internal issues related to discrimination or other
unethical treatment reported by employees. HRM makes sure that the organization
complies with provincial and federal laws regarding necessary employee paperwork,
affirmative action plans and disparate impact analyses.
HRM may also take steps to manage the public relations of a firm by forming strategic
relationships through business meetings, seminars and various other official
gatherings on behalf of the company.

Challenges of HRM
Human resource management is an important function of any
organization & it has passed from several purification stages. But
even in the modern revolutionized era, there are many challenges for
the HRM that need close attention to be solved. These challenges are
not related to the single dimension; rather they are directed towards
multi-dimensional issues that should be tackled with immediate care.

Role of HR Executives
An HR executive performs the basic functions of the HR department,
handling areas such as personnel management, social welfare and the
maintenance of HR records. An HR executive is a key member of the HR
department, often playing an instrumental role in many HR functions, or
leading a team ofHR stafffor various projects.
HR executives should have at least a bachelor's degree. Generally, the
more common degree programs among HR executives are social
sciences, business administration, human resources, communications
and management. Moreover, organizations tend to prefer candidates
with HR-related work experience and basic computer skills, so that they
will already be familiar with the basic job functions once they start work.

set the eyes of every hire manager sparkling. But with these prospects comes
an equal, if not greater, number of challenges. It is the responsibility of every
professional to recognize these obstacles and work to drive a sustainable
growth in the business.
