health mission(NHM) with 63 villages, 9
PHCs and 20 subcentres in 3 blocks of
east khasi hills to facilitate and monitor
the function of the health centres

Launched in January,2015 with Mawsmai,


Mawblang and nongthymai villages of east
khasi hills under Shella Bholaganj Block to
create a community based team for rights

Yojana National Livelihood
Mission

Started in April 2016 as an initiative


with the Meghalaya Urban Development
authority(MUDA) and Shillong municipal
board to reduce vulnerability and
poverty in urban households.
Facilitate opportunities through linkages
with allied agencies.


In 2016, Day NULM under MUDA focussed on
the BPL differently-abled women living and
scavengers in the urban areas.
Their main objective was to identify and form
Self Help Groups within Shillong Municipal
Board.
It was a community based organisation
consisting of at least 10 members in a group
to mobilise them

Cases Registered

Case-1: In one of the villages a familys house got


burned. Grassroot did not have enough fund to
provide them with money but did their best to
help them with clothes and daily necessities.
Case-2: Helped a family which lost their mother
and father had to look after their six children.
Case-3: Awareness campaign were taken up in
Nongrim, a tourist place. Tourist used to threw
bottles and litter the area destroying its beauty
and ecological balance . Interns from Guwahati
volunteered in the awareness campaign to recycle
bottles


Case-4: In this very year around eight
cases of domestic violence came up. Out
of this only one case is on hold and has
not been solved wherein the child was
raped at the age of seven years but the
reported the case later. Thus not much
help has been received from the lawyers.
