Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Lifeis made up of moments or opportunities. These moments can either make you or break you. There are so many chances and good opportunities that we allow to pass us by. How many dreams have never been achieved? How many companies have never been started? How many books have never been written? How many phone calls have never been made? How many compliments have been left unsaid? How many “I’m sorry” remain unspoken? How many “Thank you” have never been said? How many “I love you” are still unexpressed? Seizing the moment defined: To Seize – To grasp suddenly and forcibly… A Moment – is an opportunity…a favorable or advantageous chance (Divine). Seizing the moment – is grasping suddenly the favorable divine chance How to Seize the Moment 1. Find Your Purpose Purpose - The reason for which something exists or is made… If you know your purpose you’ll know which moments to seize and which to let-go Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise. V:15 2. Be Cautious To be cautious means “to be prudently (wise) watchful in the face of danger or risk” “…The act of surveying all possible consequences before taking any action” (Webster) V:15 Be very careful, then, how you live… We don't sacrifice quality for quantity. 3. Redeem the times To "redeem the time" means to “make the most of our time”, to “buy up” and to use it well. V:16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos. Chronos deals with quantitative time. It is clock and calendar oriented... It is Measurable… It is the time we humans understand intellectually. E.g. If you miss this season…you can wait for another season. Kairos deals with opportune time, divine moment. - The right activity happening at the right moment. - When circumstances of life come together. - When the right events have taken place and people are ready. - When things line up in a way that the right result can happen. 4. Give in to God’s will Give in to God’s will… is doing that which pleases God. V:17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Rom 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will. 5. Live a spirit filled life Spirit filled life – Being total trusting His Word and surrendering to His Spirit for guidance.
