The World We Live In

Our School
Our school is called wolfe middle school. We are
located in the city of center line. We do fun
things like assemblies, fundraisers, and events.
Our principle is casey contain. She helps our
school be a better and fun place to learn from.

We live in the city of Centerline, there are
about 8,257people the city has an area of
1.74 square miles

Our state
Our state is called michigan. Michigan is named
after Lake Michigan.Michigan is an East North
Central state with two peninsulas and numerous
islands in the Great Lakes. The state has the longest
coastline of any state besides Alaska. It is the only
state bordered by four of the Great Lakes. Michigan
has the most fresh water of any state in the country.

Our Country
We live in the United States of America.The US is the 4th largest country in the
world by land area and also has the 3rd highest population in the world.The US is
a very diverse country with a multicultural society.The land area of the
United States is 2,959,064 square miles The United States is home to 428
mammal species, 784 bird species, 311 reptile species, 295 amphibian species,
and about 91,000 insect species .

Our Region
We live in the midwest region of the United States. The midwest
consists of 12 states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan,
Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota,
and Wisconsin. Here, farmers grow more corn and wheat than
anywhere else on the planet.The area around Kansas, Missouri,
Nebraska and Oklahoma is known as tornado alley because this
area has more tornadoes than anywhere else in the country.
Summers in the Midwest are hot and humid; winters can be long,
cold and gray, especially in the northern Midwest.

Our continent
Our continent is north america. North america is surrounded
by the pacific, arctic, and the atlantic oceans. North America
Is the Third Largest Continent in The World.North America
Has Been Populated for at Least 15,000 Years.North America
Is Named after an Italian Explorer.There Are 965 Species of
Mammal in North America. 100s of Languages Are Spoken in
North America.

Our planet
Earth, our home planet, is the only planet in our solar system known to harbor
life.Oceans at least 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) deep cover nearly 70 percent of
Earth's surface.Near the surface, an ocean of air that consists of 78 percent
nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen, and 1 percent other ingredients envelops us.

Our Galaxy

Our galaxy is known as the Milky Way galaxy.The ancient


Romans called our galaxy the Via Lactea, which means The
Road of Milk.The Milky Way has between 100-400 billion
stars;Currently, we cant take a picture of the Milky Way from
above. This is due to the fact that we are inside the galactic
disk, about 26,000 light years from the galactic center. We
live in the third largest galaxy in the world.
