Asymmetric PCU

Configuration.

Functional Description:

Asymmetrical PCU HW configuration allows the operator to add and

activate PCU HW in granularity of one and according traffic needs.
PCU HW is installed into the BSC in granularity of one (+ required
amount of PCU HW into the spare BCSU). BCSUs are equipped with PCU
HW units according to traffic needs, i.e. PCU HW units are added to
BCSUs one by one until the full PCU HW unit amount is reached in the
BSC.
Asymmetrical PCU HW configuration introduces a definition of the
primary spare (PRSP) BCSU.
With Asymmetrical PCU HW configuration the primary spare BCSU is
configured to have enough PCU HW units to take over any of the active
BCSUs. The system will keep the primary spare BCSU as the spare BCSU
by performing related BCSU switchovers as soon as the BCSU statuses
allow this. A related alarm is raised if the primary spare BCSU unit is not
in SP-EX state.

Asymmetrical PCU HW Configuration

For Asymmetrical PCU Hardware Addition activity, we need to follow the below all steps for successful completion

Step No 1: Fall Back & PRE checks need to be taken.

Step No 2: Make the BCSU in which PCU is to be added to SE-NH state through MML command.
ZUSC: BCSU, <BCSU NO._0>: TE;
ZUSC: BCSU, <BCSU NO._0>: SE;
ZUSC: BCSU, <BCSU NO._0>: SE;
Step No 3: Switch off Power of BCSU and insert the PCU Card and switch on BCSU Power.
Step No 4: Create the Plug in unit configuration (PCU with Track no -7) through MML Command.

Step No 5: Then make the BCSU to TE-EX (TEST) mode from SE-NH mode
through MML command.

ZUSC: BCSU, <BCSU NO.>: TE;

Step No 6: Needs to perform the diagnosis of the same BCSU, with the active
MCMU. If the diagnosis is OK, then we will go for next BCSU for PCU addition.
(Needs to make other BCSU to spare).
Diagnose Command-ZUDU: BCSU, 0;
For Checking Diagnose-ZUDH: BCSU, 0;
Output should be unit ok...
All the above steps, we need to do the all the BCSUs in which PCU addition
(required plan

Step No 7: After that remove PRSP tag and made the spare
MCMU to WO-state, and perform Diagnosis of all the BCSU
in which PCU addition is done
Step No 8: Then need to set the PRSP tag in the any one of
BCSU which is with Asymmetrical PCU addition.
ZUST:BCSU,0:S-PRSP;

Step No 9: Finally need to give the BSC Restart through the

command.
ZUSS:SYM:C=DSK,:;
After that need to check the Critical Alarms, BVCI Status ,
NSEI link status etc of the complete BSC for real time basis.
If any issues we faced after the activity, need to revert BSC
with Fall Back.
