Humble Beginnings

Pablo Picasso was born

in Malaga, Spain in
1881. His father worked
as an artist and also
worked as a professor
of art. The young

A Restless Artist

Picasso was accepted into the

Royal Academy of San
Fernando, a great school in
Spain. The young artist did not
like it, though, and left after
only a year. His desire to paint
and create art was so great
that he couldnt focus on
schoolwork. In the short time
he was at the Academy, he
was able to learn many

Early Works
Picasso worked hard to make
sure his paintings were very
realistic. At the time, realistic
paintings were very popular,
but this did not interest the
artist at all. Instead, Picasso

Conclusion
Picasso kept painting for
many years later, living well
into his 80s and 90s. Today,
he is considered one of the
greatest artists who ever
lived. Many people still dont
understand his work, but in
many ways, it was his ability
to showcase things the way
he wanted to see them that
made him so unique. Pablo
Picasso was not afraid to
