What is Junction 11?
Junction 11 is the official university radio station for
Reading University in Berkshire.

The station is run by students for students.

Broadcast the latest news around campus.


History
Created in the academic year of 1997 1998

Named after the infamous junction on the M4

Originally operated from two students dorm rooms

In 2000, they were granted permission to set up a transmission mast

In 2002, the entire station was moved to the old NUS Southeast
Area

Jukebox Junction' played tracks from the Junction11 Playlist and,


since 2006, accepted requests via SMS text message

Who can listen to it?
Anyone in the campus of the university is eligible to listen to the radio station for

free. The radio is FM so also anyone within a 5km radius of the geographical area can

listen to radio, for example local convenience stores and bars.

The radio station runs from 7:30AM to 10:30PM every weekday, and they also have a

Hangover Sunday special where their main features are homework based.
