 ART HISTORY ASSESSMENT
Create an artwork inspired by an artist's artwork(s) from the past/present and
compare/ answer the following questions:
1) Who is the influencing artist and why was/is their work inspiring? (at least 3-5
sentences.) Include the title, medium, and year of the artwork.
2) What is similar about your work and the artist's work? What is different?
(Focus on style, media, subject matter, purpose and outside influences)
3) Do you think this artist would have liked your work? Why or why not? (at least
2 sentences)

*Answer questions in sketchbook and teacher will check for accuracy before
moving on to creating a PowerPoint or Word doc.

Written Response Options:

-Written 3 paragraph essay
-Compare and contrast chart
-PowerPoint or similar presentation
-Sticky note visual with commentary

Materials are optional (pencil, color pencil, watercolor, pastel, etc.)

*A visual image of the artist's work and your work must be included in the
submission on your art website. For example, if you type a 3 paragraph essay in
Word, you need to also insert a photo of your work and the artists work that
you are referencing.
