 Mathematical modeling of a physical

in general.

The simplest electric circuit is a series circuit in
which a source of electric energy (electromotive force) such as
a generator or a battery and resistor, which utilizes energy as
components. If the switch is closed in the circuit, a current I
will flow through the resistor and this will give a voltage drop,
that is the electric potential at the two ends of the resistor will
be different. Using a voltmeter, this voltage drop on the
potential difference can be measured.
