Management Information System (MIS) helps in providing the
information to take the managerial decisions.

ECS(Enterprise collaboration system) is another IS that is very

important in the modern globalised world.

The manager analyze, compare and interpret financial and

operational data. This is achieved with the help of DSS(Decision
Support System).

The manager has to ensure the quality of the product produced.

This is done through quality control which is a type of IS called
PCS(Process Control System).
EIS(Executive Information System) is the type of IS used only
by the top management to formulate strategies.

Knowledge Management System(KMS) is the IS through

which knowledge is managed for the benefit of the
organization.

Strategic Information System(SIS) is an IS that helps to make

the strategic decisions which determines the direction of the
company.

Customer Relationship Management(CRM) is an important

example of SIS.

An Information Technology Manager is responsible for

implementing and maintaining an organization's technology
infrastructure.

The IT manager monitors the organization's operational

requirements, researches strategies and technology solutions,
and builds the most cost-effective and efficient system to
achieve those goals.

Sun was sold to Oracle Corporation in 2009.
