At the end of this course, the students will be able to:

explain the appropriate principles, formula and


theory related to statics problem
practice problem-solving skills and critical thinking
skills by solving the statics problem using suitable
method

Assessments
Tests -2 - (2 x 15% = 30%)
Assignments - 3 (ind /group) - 10%
Project - 1 (group) - 10%
Final Exam - 50%

Assignment 1 covers Chapter 2 and 3


Assignment 2 covers Chapter 4 and 5
Project the assignment will be given only after students developed
a basic understanding of the subject matters. This project focuses on
problem solving by specifying the geometry of a structure or
mechanical object needed for a specific purpose.
IMPORTANT!!!
TEST 1 : 7 FEB 2011 (MONDAY 8-10 PM)
TEST 2 : 28 MARCH 2011 (MONDAY 8-10 PM)

Students must attend lectures not less than 80% of the contact
hours.

Students who do not fulfils (1) will not be allowed to attend


further lectures and sit for any further examination. Zero mark
(0) will be given to students who fail to comply with (1).

Students must obey all rules and regulations of the university


and must discipline themselves in order to avoid any
disciplinary actions against them.

Student must obey safety regulations during learning and


teaching process.
