FAT CELL Adipocyte

WHAT IS ADIPOSE CELL?

Adipose cell or fat cell are the

main structures in the body that
store nutrient and fat. Their can
later break down into fatty acids
and sent into blood for use as
energy
LOCATION
Can found in
every part in our
body but, mostly
found in neck,
ventral, hip, and
top of the thigh.
FUNCTION
Helping to reduce heat loss through the skin.
Has a protective function and also energy storage.
Build up muscle, liver, pancreatic islet cell.
Reserve of nutrients
SPECIALIZE ORGANELLE
Our cell had the Fat reservoir they have the
large fat reservoir so the space in the cell isnt
much. Also they have to store energy, dont
have to sent the energy so they dont need a
lot of mitochondria.
STRUCTURE
Have a big fat container that make the
volume of cytoplasm become
lesser than other cell

The fat container make nucleus and other

organelle being push to the corner of
cytoplasm in cell.
ORGANELLE
Mitochondria
Nucleus
Membrane
Fat Reservior
Cytoplasm
Golgi Apparatus
Rough Endoplasmic
Reticulum
How shape effect the function?

If adipocyte have other shape the surface

area of the cell will be smaller and can
hold less fat.
Function to other cell

It stores fat --> digest the stores fat by

enzymes (lipase) --> sent it to blood -->
sent it in the form of Fatty acid --> tissue
to use as energy
HOW IT HELP ORGANISM TO
BE ALIVE?
Providing insulation from heat and cold
Around organs, it provides protective
padding
It also function as a reserve of
nutrients
DISEASE

If there are too much of

adipocyte in cell it will cause
diabete.
