LINKS Program! LINKS is an incentive program for children who are or were in foster care. The participants range from ages 13-21. The program allows for the children to gain rewards for a variety of services, such as volunteering and doing well in school. LINKS also provides vital information to participants about furthering their education, finding employment and the services they qualify for now and when they age out of care. Say So Event! An event held by LINKS coordinators for youth in care to provide them with important information and support. The goal of the event is to improve and advocate for change in the system and educate not only the youth but also the community members that attend. Agenda At the event there will be workshops held. Games Resource vendors. Food All to give the children in care a day to have fun but also be informed of the options and opportunities they have to succeed. My Role Been to LINKS meetings to discuss changes and the importance of the Say So event. Made phone calls to numerous LINKS coordinators in surrounding areas to invite their children to the event. Contacted the Executive director of the Say So event to organize this event in the proper way. Contacted potential sponsors to donate food and other supplies for the event. Attended LINKS meetings with the Scotland and Richmond county children and assisted with helping them fill out paperwork that can be beneficial to their future.
