Frequent Flyer Program

Attendance Matters. Everyday Counts. Every Class

Counts.
Parker Intermediate has an F on School
Report Card in the area of attendance.
The district wants all campuses to identify
students who have demonstrated problems
with attendance and examine their reasons
for missing school.
Campus principal wants to improve the
attendance of identified students before the
individual students names reach the district
level.

Purpose of the Program

Identify students that have been absent
five or more days during the mandatory
period.
Solicit volunteers to partner with students
and establish relationships with the
identified students.
Monitor student attendance to see if the
partnerships have worked to curtail the
students poor attendance.

Overview of the Program

Identified students and their partner
teachers have initial meeting in March to
get to know each other.
Students and teachers meet once per
week in the library to discuss topics of
their choosing.
Students report to their teachers daily to
let them know that they are at school and
tell how their day is going.

How It Works
The attendance clerk tracks the identified
students to determine if their attendance
has improved since the inception of the
program.
Weekly reports are provided to the
campus principal for review.
The principal discusses the reports with
the program coordinator, provides
feedback, and offers suggestions.
