Why did I need to
learn about family
engagement?
Teacher and parent relationships and family
partnerships are essential to effective
programs and practices within the early
childhood field because when a childs basic
needs are met; food, shelter, clothing, etc.
there is less stress in the home. It is important
to be respectful, non-judgmental, and
sensitive to differences knowing your own
biases and understanding them will help you
to remember that body language,
conversations and facial expressions all relay
Why did I need to
learn about Child
Development?
The first five years of a childs development
are fundamental to future learning. I can be an
idealistic administrator by Implementing a
vision that is designed to support the whole
child in reaching their potential in life. I can do
this by providing individualized instruction that
includes components that support them to be
physically healthy, mentally alert, emotionally
sound, socially competent, and ready for
transitions. I will provide a welcoming
