for a walk. He saw Sammy Snail. Sammy

This is Jack. He is a big man. He wears
a hat. He sells hats in a big bag. Jack puts
the hats in a van. It is a red van. He sells
five hats in a week. He likes his job.

 A New Friend
One Sunday morning, Agus walked to a
pet shop. It was hot, so he wore a cap. At
the shop, he made a new friend called
Ben. Ben lives at No. 124, Jalan Mawar,
Taman Segar. Later, Ben and Agus had ice
cream together.

 Friendship Day

Friends are important. Everybody need

friends. Friendship Day falls in the first
Sunday of August every year. On this day,
people spend time with their friends.
They give presents to one another. They
give flowers, cards or wristbands as
presents.

 Joan and the Crow

Joan likes tomatoes. She wanted to

grow tomato plants. She sowed some
tomato seeds in a seedbed. Joan put some
soil on the seeds. Then a crow pecked at
the seeds. Joan was upset.

 Ashwini and Leela
Ashwini and Leela get up at 6 oclock in the
morning. Then, they have breakfast. Ashwini
has butter and toast. Leela has fried eggs and
oats. Then, they go to school at 7 oclock.
In the afternoon, Ashwini has piano lessons.
Leela does her homework with her mother. At 5
oclock, Ashwini plays hopscotch with her
friends. Leela plays badminton with her father.
They have dinner with their parents at 7
oclock. Ashwini and Leela go to bed at 9 oclock.

YEAR 3
 Paven is telling his friends what he does to
stay healthy.
Good morning friends. To be healthy, I eat a
balanced meal and I exercise. I drink plenty of
water and get enough sleep.
I usually eat bread or boiled eggs for
breakfast. For lunch and dinner, I usually eat
rice, fish, and vegetables. I love vegetables
like ling beans, tomatoes, and carrots. I also
eat a lot of fruits like papayas, apple and
strawberries.

Alices Adventures in Wonderland
Alice had sat on the bank by her sister till she
was tired. Once or twice she had looked at the
book her sister held in her hand, but there
were no pictures in it.
What is the use of a book without pictures?
thought Alice. The hot day made her feel quite
dull, and she wanted to get up and pick some
daisies to make a flower chain. Just then a
white rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.

 Our Solar System
The Earth is a planet in the Solar System.
The other planets in our Solar System are
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn,
Uranus, and Neptune. All these planets travel
around the Sun. We can see the Sun in the
daytime, but at night we see the Moon. The
Moon is a natural satellite that travels
around the Earth. Besides the Moon, we can
also see many bright stars in the sky at night.
 Pravin went to Supermarket
Pravin went to the supermarket with his
mother last Sunday. There was a sale there.
They chose to buy some things at the sale
because the offers were good. They bought
two bottles of cooking oil, a tub of yogurt, a
litre of milk and ten apples. They also bought a
tube of toothpaste, four toothbrushes, two
plates, a knife and five cups. Pravins mother
was very happy because they saved a lot of
money that day.
 Lake Chini
Lake Chini, also known as Tasik Chini is
located in Pahang. It consists of twelve lakes
which are not only famous for their natural
beauty but also for the mysteries that
surround them. The first legend is that an
enormous snake was transformed into a dragon
called Naga Seri Gumum. There is also a story
of an ancient city that existed in the lake. It
is believed that some remains of the old city
can still be found at the bottom of the lake.
 Charlie Buckets Family
This is Charlies family. The whole family
live together in a small wooden house. The
house is old and really small. Life is
extremely uncomfortable for them all.
There are only two rooms in the house and
there is only one bed. It is given to the
four grandparents because they are so
old and tired. They are so tired that they
never get out of it.
