EMERGENCY PROCEDURE FOR

TOTAL POWER FAILURE

Total power failure means :


1 .Both GT-1& GT-2 off condition.
2.Both TIE off condition(33kv SWGAR A& B
tripped.
Reason:
Because of Grid fault .
Because of 33kv A & B fault.
Because of generator fault & 50 LBB
operated.
Immidiate step needs to be taken after power failure:
ensure DC JOP and EOP started & oil pressure builds
up.
ensure DG set started & NE (normal emergency)
switch gear charged.
once ne SWGAR charged, ensure ac MOP/AOP; AC
JOP; DC charger; ups aux. supply normalized.
monitor the DG set voltage, frequency & oil level
(diesel).
after ac oil pumps started switch off DC pumps (DC
EOP& DC JOP).

NORMALIZATION OF POWER:
CHECK THE GRP RELAY BOTH GRP-1 & GPR-2 FOR ANY
FAULTS FROM CONTROL ROOM.
CHECK THE 33 KV SWGR TIE-1&2; GT-1&2 RELAY AT 0
MTR FOR ANY FAULTS.
ANALYSE THE FAULTS SEVIORLTY AND TAKE CLEARANCE
FROM ELECTRICAL FOR RESTORATION OF POWER.
IF GENERATOR 50 LBB OPERATED, RESET THE GRP
GENERATOR RELAY AND GT-1&2 RELAY FOR CHARGING
TIE-1/2.
BEFORE CHARGING ENSURE ALL OUT GOINF BREAKERS
OFF CONDITION EXCEPT SAT, 33 KV LEVEL, ENSURE 6.6
KV SIDE BREAKER OPEN.
BEFORE CHARGING TIE CHECK TIE LINE VOLTAGE
FROM 33 KV SWGR & INFORM MSDS CHARGING.
TO CHARGE TIE 1/2 FROM GCP SELECT DEAD BUS
CLOSING AND GIVE COMMAND TO TIE 1/2.
ONCE TIE-1/2 BREAKER CLOSE, CHECK 33 KV
SWGR-A&B BUS VOLTAGE (i.e.- 33 KV ~ 33.5 KV)
CHARGE THE SAT -1/ SAT-2 (33KV OUTGOING)
BREAKER FROM CONTROL & RELAY PANEL.
CHARGE THE 6.6 KV INCOMMER-1/2; ENSURE
BUS COUPLER SHOULD BE OPEN CONDITION.
CHARGE THE SAT-1 / SST-2; ENSURE TIE BREAKER
IN BETWEEN PMCC A/B SHOULD OPEN.
NORMALIZATION OF 415 V
SWGR:
COMMON POINTS:
During normal operation
A/M/INDEPENDENT switch at
breaker shoud be in auto.
Before charging MCC CHANGE
THE SWITCH TO INDEPENDENT
POSITION.
CLOSE THE PMCC A BREAKER AT CONTROL ROOM PANEL.
CLOSE THE PMCC B BREAKER AT CONTROL ROOM PANEL.
ONCE PMCC-A CHARGE CHECK WHETER WHEATHER DG
AUTO CHANGEOVER HAPPENED. (i.e. - NE SWGR CHARGED
FROM NORMAL INCOMER AND DG INCOMMER BECOME OFF.
OUTGOING BREAKER AT PMCC-A/B ARE CLOSED CONDITION,
IF NOT SO CLOSED THEN ONE BY ONE (i.e.- OUTGOING
BREAKER CW MCC-1&2; OUTGOING BREAKER DM MCC-1&2;
OUTGOING BREAKER AC&V MCC-1&2.
CHARGE DM MCC, CW MCC, AC&V MCC BOTH INCOMER.
FROM CONTROL & RELAY PANEL.
ENSURE ALL MCC BUS COUPLER SHOULD BE OPEN
CONDITION AT CONTROL & RELAY PANEL.
ALL AUTO/MANUAL SWITCH SHOULD BE AT LOCAL MCC.
