Theme
Our thriller addresses a variety of issues and raises awareness for those suffering with
mental illnesses. By doing this, we explore the negative and positive aspect of emotions
ranging from jealousy and rage to love and affection.

Within the theme of jealousy and rage we do incorporate mild violence which involves
both physical and psychological damage. Such as Paiges planned murder of Steph
(physical) and Paiges mental illness and stalking (psychological).
Tone and Impact
The tone of our thriller is relatively unnerving especially as our plot is to a certain extent
realistic. With two women every week being murdered from domestic abuse which includes
those who have remained in an abusive relationship and those who have left. For example,
within recent months a nineteen-year old female from Brighton, Shana Grice was murdered by
her possessive ex-boyfriend who stalked and harassed her for six months following the end of
their relationship.

Therefore, by tackling this hard-hitting issue we have been awarded a higher classification of a
15 rating.
Discrimination
There is no explicit themes of discrimination, as we have included a white aryan female as
the protagonist and a mixed race black female as the antagonist. In addition to this we
explore the impact of mental illnesses. So with regards of the issues explored, there is no
discrimination. Nor is there any particularly discriminatory language that is not perceived as
acceptable for a 15 certificate.
Drugs
There is no drug use or abuse incorporated within our motion picture, however due to our
antagonist Paiges mental illness it could be inferred that she does/or will use tablets
prescribed to calm her outbursts.
Imitable Behavior
Dangerous behaviour is incorporated as towards the end of the film, the protagonist is
murdered by the antagonist however this is not physically graphic for the audience to watch.
Therefore, complies with what is regarded as acceptable for the rating that it has received.
Language
The language within our film is arguably tame with no unnecessary overload of bad
language used.
Nudity
There is no explicit nudity portrayed within our thriller, especially not in strong detail.
Sex
There is no scenes of sexual intercourse featured within our thriller. However, there is some
verbal reference to sexual behaviour and scenes of kissing.
Threat
In order to cohere with the conventions of the thriller genre, we have incorporated a
threatening atmosphere as this evokes a sense of suspense and mystery. The theme of
threat is explored through Paiges stalking and unpredictable violent behavior.
Violence
Violence is depicted within our thriller, as our protagonist is murdered in the latter half of our film.
There is physical violence from one human to another, and there is violence where our antagonist
punches the wall and throws knives at pictures etc.
How does our film appeal to
our target group of 15 to 30
year olds?
We have incorporated the use of teenagers in order to connect with the younger proportion
of our audience, especially within our opening sequence. However, later on in the film we do
have older characters.

Furthermore, through exploring the issues of mental health which affects one out of every
six adults in Britain alone and affects all ages, we have enabled a large audience appeal.
