iconic character from the
Star Wars franchise.
His character arc unfolds
over the course of 7 films
and hundreds of other Star
Wars media.
Over the course of the Star
Wars storyline, Vader is a
member of several discourse
communities.

The Galactic Empire
Darth Vader becomes a member of the
Galactic Empire by being seduced to the
Dark Side of the Force.

The primary goal of the Galactic Empire


was to rule the galaxy by gaining more
power.

Other members of the Empire include Tarkin &


Vader
Grand Moff Tarkin & Chancellor Palpatine.

Feedback
Within the empire, feedback followed a chain of
command. It went from troopers to commanders
such as Tarkin, to Vader, to Palpatine.
Feedback included how well their plans were going,
whether they needed to launch attacks on their
enemy forces, and critical data involving

The Galactic Empire
Communication
The empire communicated primarily through
the use of radios and maps.
Droids were also used to transfer information
amongst different crews within the Empire.

The genres used are generally force


and violence. They are civil amongst
each other, but pressure their
enemies.

Specialized language in the Empire K-2SO, an Imperial droid featured in Rogue One
was known as Imperial Basic, a
jargon spoken by members of the
Empire. An example would be the
Eriaduan accent spoken by Tarkin.
The Sith
After being persuaded to join the Dark
Side of The Force, Vader was a member of
The Sith.

The Siths goal was to take over the


galaxy, with the additional agenda of
destroying the Jedi, their temples, writings,
and teachings.

Members of the Sith were individuals such


as Count Dooku & Darth Sidious. They are
generally considered evil.

Feedback in the Sith utilized the rule of
two, stating there can only be two Sith
lords at a given time, a master and
apprentice. They would relay their plans to
one another and to their armies as well.

Communication between Siths was

The Council would communicate by
holding meetings to discuss various
issues, in addition to regular coms and
