Mission Statement

The purpose of the Campus Activities Program


(CAP) must be to enhance the overall
educational experience of students through
development of, exposure to, and participation
in programs and activities that improve student
cooperation and leadership while preparing
students to be responsible advocates and
citizens and complementing the institution's
academic programs.

These activities could be intellectual, social,


recreational, cultural, multicultural, and spiritual in
nature. Programs could pertain to leadership,
governance, community service, healthy lifestyles, and
organizational development.

CAP must provide opportunities
for students to:
participate in co-curricular activities

participate in campus governance

advocate for their organizations and interests

develop leadership abilities

Sat on Welcome Anchors Committee which is facilitated by the Center for
Campus Involvement (CCI). CCI falls under the CAS Standards for Campus
Activities and Programs
WAC is responsible for planning and generating the calendar of events and
programming; as well as, the marketing tied to U of M Welcome Week
Trotters Community Gathering (held 9/10) was an Official Welcome Week
Event
Currently sitting on the Black Welcome Week Finale Tailgate Committee
With other units both within Student Life and beyond; as well as, student
organizations we are planning a social program that encourages students,
faculty, staff and alum to connect with each other in a safe and fun
environment
Trotter will provide the space for the Michigan vs BYU tailgate and game
viewing for Black Students, Faculty and Staff (event is inclusive)
Along with my program staff we will continue to plan Health and Wellness
Programming; as well as, multicultural and social justice based programming

Who CCI is:
The Center for Campus Involvement is a dynamic, student-focused
department that serves undergraduate and graduated students
campus wide through its programs and student organization support.
Through meaningful involvement, the center creates transformative
experiences, a vibrant community and lifelong memories for University
of Michigan student.
Note: CCI is a part of University of Michigan Unions (which includes
Michigan Union, Michigan League and Pierpont Commons).

Workshop Requests for Student Organizations and Departments
Facilitated interactive workshop sessions based on the need of the
student organization

Performance Contracting
According to the University of Michigan Standard Practice Guide
(SPG) Student Life has authorization to sign entertainment contracts
for Student Life Departments and their Sponsored Student
Organizations.

Partnership Policy
The Center for Campus Involvement seeks to build strong
relationships and partnerships with other organizations to provide
dynamic programs that build community for University of Michigan
students.

Diag Reservations
CCI supports students around reserving space on the Diag for all
types of activities.

CCI Sponsored Student
Organization
The University Activities Center (UAC) is a student-run
programming organization at the University of Michigan
sponsored by CCI. UACs mission is to provide quality
programing which is both entertaining and enriching to the
lives of the students, faculty and staff in the University
community.

UAC is composed of 14 committees, each involving students


in the planning and execution of a variety of events both on
and off campus.
