Dyscalculia

What is it?
This is a math related learning disability that makes math tasks difficult for
students. Children may have a harder time understanding quantities vs concepts or
have a hard time grasping number senses(4=four).The mechanics of math like
recalling math facts may also be a challenge to a child. Along with that, the
working memory of being able to remember factors when doing a multiple step
problem can be difficult too.

Has difficulty recalling math facts
Struggles to recognize patterns
Struggles to understand math related terms
Has a hard time grasping information from a chart or graph

43-65% of kids with dyscalculia also have dyslexia
Students with dyscalculia tend to have math anxiety
Genetic disorders such as fragile X syndrome, Gerstmanns syndrome and Turners
syndrome can be associated with dyscalculia
