National coalition against domestic violence (ncadv)
- the national coalition against domestic violence aims to change society to have zero tolerance for
domestic violence and is the number one choice of victims and survivors

- They do this by affecting public policy, increasing understanding of the impacts of domestic
violence, and providing programs and education that drive that change

- In the novel, after a certain point in Amys marriage with Nick, Amy starts to fear for her safety and
well being , which touches on article 3 of the universal declaration of human rights. Stating that
Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

- In the book, amy writes down in a diary entry I will practice believing my husband loves me, and will
love this baby. That this child might really save our marriage. But I could be wrong. Because
sometimes, the way he looks at me, I think, man of my dreams, father of my child, this man of mine
may kill me. He may truly kill me.(Flynn 210) Amy writes this down in her diary truly fearing for her
safety, and hopes that their child might save their marriage. I believe this NGO can help Amy by
protecting her and her child in the event that Nick does try to harm them.
World organization against torture
- the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) is today the main coalition of international non-governmental
organisations (NGO) fighting against torture, summary executions, enforced disappearances and all other cruel,
inhuman or degrading treatment.OMCT is the most important network of non-governmental organisations working for
the protection and the promotion of human rights in the world.

- OMCTs International Secretariat provides personalised medical, legal and/or social assistance to hundreds of torture
victims and ensures the daily dissemination of urgent interventions across the world, in order to protect individuals
and to fight against impunity.

- In the novel, article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights stating that No one shall be subjected to torture or
to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. is one of the major conflicts due to the fact that Amy
subjected her Husband Nick, to cruel mind games in an act of revenge and secretly plots his demise. Amy felt the
need to punish Nick and torture him with not only her disappearance but framing him with her alleged murder due to
an affair Nick had.

- In the novel, nick tells us who amy truly is and states I needed to really show him Amy's character. Her lies, her
vindictiveness, her score-settling. I needed other people to back me upthat my wife wasn't Amazing Amy, but
Avenging Amy. (flynn 270) This NGO can be beneficial to Nick by providing legal and social assistance in order to
protect him from the tortuous ways of his wife Amy in the near future.
National coalition for men
- NCFM is dedicated to the removal of harmful gender based stereotypes, especially as they impact boys, men, their
families and those who love them.
- As the days go on and Amy is still missing, Nick becomes the prime suspect for her disappearance and can be
thrown in jail or given the death penalty, when he is in fact innocent. If that were to happen that would be violating
article 9 of the universal declaration of human rights which states No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest,
detention or exile.
- In the novel, one of the clues were toy dolls that symbolised something very dark, while staring at the doll Nick says :
So she's giving me the narrative of my frame-up...

Yeah, right: You didn't want her to be pregnant, you got angry and killed her and the unborn baby...

The climax is when you are taught the lesson that Punch never learns, and you are caught and charged with
murder."(flynn 232)

Nick was innocent and had nothing to do with his wifes disappearance. Due to the stereotypes of men that depicts them as
violent and aggressive, nick can be charged with the crime of murder. This NGO can help Nick by helping him to remove
harmful gender based stereotypes and focusing on what the bigger problem might be.

Anti-slavery
- the anti slavery organization fights against domestic and modern day slavery in society today
- nick dunne finds himself in a form of slavery called forced marriage, which is when someone is married against their will
and cannot leave the marriage. This directly violates article 4 of the universal declaration of human rights stating No one
shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms

-by the end of the novel Amy returns home to Nick and has manipulated her way back into his life forcing Nick to stay with
her, Amy has done the craziest things in order to keep her relationship intact. Furthermore Nick finally gives up and says i
was a prisoner after all. Amy had me forever, or as long as she wanted because i needed to save my son. (flynn 411)

- this NGO could be useful to Nick if he ever tries to reopen his case against his wife for trying to frame him for her
disappearance and trapping him in a dangerous nuclear relationship that is bound to explode sooner or later.
