Week Four

Assignment 4B
CHAP. 13: ADVANCED MULTIMEDIA
Integrating Tech in the
Classroom
CHAPTER 13
This chapter explores
two types of
multimedia work:
making digital videos
and computer
programming.
Why Making Digital Video?
I chose Making Digital
Video as my takeaway
tool and I would
recommend it to my
worksite
it is inexpensive, which
makes it easier for the
school to approve it
it is very easy to use that
any grade level can
manage to learn it very
quick.
Getting Started Making Videos
Video production calls for higher thinking skills
Students will:
Choose a topic
Plan the shots
Shoot and edit the footage
Create final product
Requirements
Tripods
Can be an inexpensive tripods and they are worth getting them
Microphone
A shotgun microphone might be the best basic microphone
because it can pick up multiple people
Preparing to Film
It is always good to
guide your students
through preplanning
activities. Such as,
idea development
and storyboarding
before they start
filming
Resources for Students

of digital media

making process.

preparation work for filming a video.
Ideas for Students-Made
Videos
Book Trailers
Student-created book trailers can act as peer-to-peer
recommendations of books
Public Service Announcements
This involves students in researching and thinking about
messages they consider important
How-Tos
Students often learn best from other students, and videos allow
the messages to be repeated as often as needed
Authentic Audience
Students will be
more motivated and
try to do the best
they can when they
know people outside
their classroom will
see their work.
Conclusion
Programing
Learning a programming language requires more abstract skills
than primary students typically have, so its best to introduce
programming at the third grade or higher levels (Hamilton, 2015,
p. 239).
