The Body Mass Index (BMI), chest expansion and lung volume
play an important role in planning treatment regime, providing 25 Chinese female

Methodology:
The weight and height were measured using electronic
balance and measuring tape respectively.
Peak expiratory flow rate and chest expansion were

determined using peak flow metre and inch tape respectively.
All the parameters were measured during the day and night

on 120 young adults.

The increase in BMI at night found in all ethnic groups was
Malay Male
27% because of the decrease in height observed during night
compared to the day in all ethnic groups.
The chest expansion remained same or without significant
difference throughout the day.
There was slight increase in lung capacity during night in all
Asian ethnic groups we studied.
