Tutorial task
In your groups select 3 learning standards (according to the Year
assigned) and choose suitable ICT materials to teach L & S skills. You
need to
i) devise an appropriate activity for each LS with the material
ii) justify the choice of the ICT material and the activity

Suggest 5 different websites that you can use for teaching of L & S
skills.
Content standard
1.1 Pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with
the correct stress, rhythm and intonation

1.2 Pupils will be able to listen and respond appropriately in formal and
informal situations for a variety of purposes.

1.3 Pupils will be able to understand and respond to oral texts in a


variety of contexts.

Using of ELTpodcasts
1. The students will listen to the podcast played by the teacher. (E.g.
topic of the day: weekend plans)
2. In groups of three to four, the students will be assigned with
different situations such as shopping, picnic or playing sports.
3. The students will then present the situation discussed in front of
other groups.
4. Teacher and other students will evaluate on the groups
presentation.

Justification
ELT podcasts provides a platform in training the learners listening
skills.
The vocabulary and sentence structure are easily understood and are
suitable for young learners.
The learners will be more familiar to the topic as it gives them a sense
of resemblance in their real life.
1.2.1 Able to participate in daily conversations:
(e) Talk about oneself
1. A few students are selected and are given different situations.
2. The students will be given the topic of the day: hobbies.
3. In pairs, the students will prepare the dialogue based on their
creativity.
4. By using Peardeck, the students can share their hobbies on the
website.
5. One student will be the interviewer and one student be the
interviewee and talk about his/her hobbies based on the dialogue
uploaded on Peardeck.
6. Teachers will give suggestions to the students work for
improvisation.
Justification
Peardeck allows students to communicate online.
Teacher can view the students work online directly.
Teacher and other students can give immediate feedback on
improvisations.

1. ELT podcasts will be played in the class.


2. Each students will be given a task sheet consisting of Wh-questions
based on the podcasts listened.
3. The teacher will then discuss the answers for the task sheet with
the students.
