My Hopes and Dreams For Kindergarten
Students will love learning.

Students will know all alphabet letters and sounds.

Students will be able to read kindergarten leveled texts.

Students will be able to add, subtract, and decompose


numbers from 0-10.

Students will learn to problem solve and think critically.

Students will learn critical social skills (CARES).


A Typical Day at School
Our Schedule:

7:45-8:10 Morning Meeting

8:10-8:40 Literacy

8:40-9:10 Specials The schedule is tentative. Our


website will be updated regularly
9:10-9:20 Snack
with changes and new information.
9:20-10:20 Literacy, cont.

10:20-10:40 Social Skills

Schedule Tips
Please bring supplies by the first day.

Students need sneakers on TUESDAYS for P.E.

Bring a non messy snack each day (goldfish,


pretzels, etc.) that is packed OUTSIDE of lunch
box.

Water bottles are allowed in the classroom, but


no juice.

Students need to know their bus numbers and


wear their bus tags for the first 2 weeks of school.
Arrival and Dismissal
We begin as close to 7:45 as possible; please be prompt if
students are car riders.

Let your child know if he or she is to eat breakfast at school.

Students need to arrive with take home folders every day.

Please email and/or send in a note whenever your childs


dismissal procedure changes.

Students need to know their bus numbers and how they dismiss
from school.

Car riders and after-care students report to the Music room


(113) at dismissal.
Recess and Lunch
All students need a non-messy snack (goldfish, pretzels,
etc.) that is packed SEPARATE from lunch.

Please utilize your childs EZ pay account for lunch


and/or breakfast costs.

Students need to be dressed according to the weather


EVERY DAY for recess; we go outside even in wet and
snowy conditions.

Students may bring a change of shoes for recess


(sneakers, boots).

Monitors attend lunch and recess with students every


day.
Odds and Ends
Please bring in a change of clothes for your child in case
of accidents (shirt, pants, underwear) in a bag that is
labeled with his or her name.

Please check your email and our class website weekly


for information and updates.

Students will NOT receive nightly homework. They WILL


receive books and engaging games/activities to
complete based on their progress at school.

Students will belong in a positive but structured


classroom community. I will communicate with you often
regarding your childs behavior.

Let us know of any health concerns.


Your Role in Your Childs Learning
Read to and with your child every night.

Complete any at-home tasks specified by the teacher.

Read and return your childs take home folder and reading bag every
day.

Check your email and our class website weekly.

Encourage independence at home.

Make sure your child gets 11-12 hours of sleep nightly.

Bus Tags
Please fill out the bus tag forms and make sure
you note how your child will be going home
each day. When listing a bus number, list the
bus number that will take your child home
NOT the number that will take your child to Falls
Lenox.

Students need to wear bus tags to school every


day until September 8th!

Please email or send in a note any time that


your childs dismissal procedure changes.
