Convert mtn to mseed files

- The measurement output from sara data logger are mtn file type
that cant read in geopsy
- So we convert this mtn file type to mseed file type
Open mtn_files folder
Look for doit.bat file, right click, choose edit
Will appear dialog box like picture below

4 first number is the Code of the data logger

Make it different for each north (N), west (W), East (E) and Central (C) sensor

Name of
the
converter
4 last number is the mesurement time begin for each sensor
For every triangle measurement begin in the same time,
example triangle 1 (sensor N1, W1, E1, C1)

Name of each sensor

N1 means North sensor for triangle 1
W1 means West sensor for triangle 1
E1 means East sensor for triangle 1
C1 means Central sensor for triangle 1

Measurement duration time of each sensor

Sensor Array

North sensor

Central sensor

West sensor East sensor

After finished edit the doit.bat file, click file, save

Close the doit.bat notepad file

Run the converter

- choose the doit.bat file,
- right click and choose open
Converter will running, show this dialog
Press any key after the process finished

The result will appear, outside the mtn_files folder as mseed files
Insert the sensor`s coordinates
Open mseed_files that already converted in geopsy

Position of every sensor havent set so we must input the

position
Edit, set receiver

click load,
choose coordinate file
Will apeear
Choose OK twice
Grouping the measurement in
each triangle file
Open C1, N1, W1, E1 for the first triangle
Klik file, export

Choose miniseed file type, click ok and write the file name, save
Do the same step for the next triangle
Using spac menu in geopsy
Open triangle file that we had grouping before
Drag the first triangle file to SPAC menu
Then make ring to measure the correlation signal of every pairs
of sensor
Choose SPAC toolbox, ring, click add
Input min and max to make two ring
Klik optimize, that two ring become so close like in the picture
below

best correlation if the 2 ring so close

If we used 4 sensor so there will be 2 ring and 6 number of
correlation(total number of ring)
So we klik add again to make the next correlation ring
Do the same step like before
To save the ring that have made, Click save in SPAC toolbox
CONVERT THE RING FILE TO DINVER TARGET FILE
- We convert this ring correlation data to dinver file type
because we want to open this file in spac2disp software, to
see the measurement in dispersion curve graph

Choose output,
We can choose the result
folder place by choose it in
Output file menu

Click start, and

wait until the process finished
We can see the progress in status

The result will have .target file type

Do this step for all triangle
Using spac2disp
- Show the dispersion of the signal and we pick the best estimate
slowness or velocity in every frequency
Open spac2disp program

Open the all triangle target file

Dispersion curve graph show the slowness (1/velocity) in every frequency
The best estimates of slowness in every frequenscy shows by the green colour

Dispersion curve graph

More better data if the each pairs of graph

looks more similar

Correlation accuration of each triangle

PICKING THE DISPERSION CURVE

The picking shape depends on the absis and ordinat of the graph
- For the Slowness (S) vs frequency (F) picking shape must be

- For the Velocity (V) vs frequency (F) picking shape must be

V

F
PICKING THE CURVE

Right click on the curve and choose pick

Make line Pick on the graph by clicking the mouse

After finished make line pick, right click and choose pick to
unactive the picking and finished the first curve picking
Do the same step to make 3 or more curve picking
Calculate the average of 3 picking curve
Click average, choose all curve and OK
Save the picking
Using DINVER
- Inversion program to make the velocity and depth model from
the dispersion curve that we had picking before
Open dinver program

Will appear dialog box, click ok

Dinver layout will appear and choose target menu
Choose dispersion, click set

Open the picking curve file by click load

Picking curve

Data that we use in inversion

process later
We can smooth or resample the picking curve using smooth or
resemple menu in action button

And we can save this new smoothing picking curve using save in
action button
INSERT THE PARAMETER MODEL FOR INVERSION

Choose parameter menu and add every parameter by click add

We can check parameter that we made by click check and see
the list of parameter condition in log menu
RUN THE INVERSION
Choose the run_01 model that we add before,
To start the inversion click runs and start
Check the running status in log menu, run_01
Check the result in status menu
SEE THE INVERSION IN GROUND PROFILE RESULT
Click ok and the result will appear
