Background
Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory response due to
infection. Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome
(SIRS) is characterized by two or more symptoms
including fever or hypothermia, tachycardia, tachypnea
and leucocytosis or leucopenia. One of SIRS criteria is
white blood cells count.There was no previous study
conducted to determine the effect of white blood cell on
mortality risk in Dr. Kariadi Hospital.
Objective
To determine the effect of white blood cells count on
mortality of sepsis in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang.
Methods
Retrospective study of pediatric patients diagnosed with
SIRS and sepsis in PICU Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang
between January December 2016 was done. Sepsis
was diagnosed based on International Consensus
Conference on Pediatric Sepsis (ICCPS). We analyzed
the effect of white blood cells count on mortality using
Fisher Exact test by SPSS 20

Result

Conclusion Keywords
There was no affect of mortality between leucocytosis leucopenia, leucocytosis, sepsis, mortality
and leucopenia in pediatric sepsis patients.
