HISTRORY OF MDMS In 1962 it was introduced by K.Kamaraj In 1982 it was extended NMS by MGR In 2001, MDMS minimum contents of 300 calories of energy every child. 8-12 gms of protein per day Minimum of 200 days OBJECTIVES OF MDMS Improving the nutritional status of children in classes I-VIII in Government. malnutrition Pre Independence & Post Independence MDMS was introduced in 1925 in Madras corporation by British administration. Union Territory of Puducherry by the French administration in 1930. In 1962-63 MDMS introducing primary schools by Kamaraj In 1982 CM MGR upgraded the existing MDMS Nutritious food scheme. TN has implemented a scheme for its children in the shortest period time.
