CO-CONSTRUCTIVISM
Theorist Lev Vygotsky states that the knowledge is co-constructed and individuals learn from
one another

Children learn best when they have the assistance from others as they are given the guidance
they need

Scaffolding: refers to a variety of instructional techniques used to move students progressively

toward stronger understanding and, ultimately, greater independence in the learning process
CONSTRUCTIVISM

Constructivism: how learners construct their own understandings and ideas

Constructivism as an Epistemological Theory explains that disciplines, such as history and

mathematics, are constructed by human interactions and decisions

Cognitive conflict explains that the child is able to understand discrepancies between what they
already know and new perspectives on information that they are experiencing in their everyday
lives
