CRT stand for Cathode Ray Tube.

This type of Monitor uses streams

of electrons that active dots or
pixel on the screen to create a full

A CRT Monitor is a hardware
component of a computer that
displays information through a
visual interface. The monitor is
composed of a case and a screen
that displays the information
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) devices have
become an important part of everyday life.
Their use range from wristwatches,
calculators, and mobile phones, to more
demanding high-resolution applications in
test instrumentation, computer monitors
and high definition CCFL and LED LCD
HDTVs.
LCD displays consist primarily of two sheets of
polarized glass plates with some liquid crystal
solution trapped between them. The type of
liquid crystals used in LCD panels have got very
specific properties that enable them to serve as
effective 'shutters' that close or open to block in
a varying degree, the passage of light. This
blockingor partial blockingaction takes
place in a perpendicular manner to the passage
of light once an electric current flows through
the liquid crystal solution.
This current through the liquid crystals is
controlled by a voltage applied between the
glass plates through the use of transparent
electrodes that form a gridwith rows on
one side of the panel and columns on the
otherrepresenting the picture elements or
pixels.
Used for displays in notebooks, small computers,
pagers, phones and other instruments.
Uses a combination of fluorescent-based
backlight, color filters, transistors, and liquid
crystal to create and illuminate images.
Until recently, was only used on notebook
computers and other portable devices.
In 1997, manufactures began to offer full size LCD
monitors as alternatives to CRT monitors.
Screen burn-in, image burn-in or ghost
image, colloquially known as screen burn, is
a permanent discoloration of areas on an
electronic display such as a cathode ray tube
(CRT) display or computer display monitor
or television set caused by cumulative non-
uniform usage of the pixels.

With phosphor-based electronic displays (for example
CRT-type computer monitors or plasma displays), non-
uniform use of pixels, such as prolonged display of non-
moving images (text or graphics), gaming, or certain
broadcasts with tickers and flags, can create a permanent
ghost-like image of these objects or otherwise degrade
image quality. This is because the phosphor compounds
which emit light to produce images lose their luminance
with use. Uneven usage results in uneven light output over
time, and in severe cases can create a ghost image of
previous content. Even if ghost images are not
recognizable, the effects of screen burn are an immediate
and continual degradation of image quality.

In display technology parlance, viewing angle is the

maximum angle at which a display can be viewed with
acceptable visual performance. In a technical context, this
angular range is called viewing cone defined by a multitude
of viewing directions. It is an angle on screen that we still
can see it wherever we sit. Compare to CTR, LCD monitor
has less angle. Object in CRT monitor is very clear to see
even we see it in 180 degree. It is not happening for LCD
monitor. if we move just for a little, the object will become
darker or brighter and it is called as distortion which is the
poor of LCD monitor. Compare to CRT monitor, LCD
monitor has smaller angleBut, LCD monitor nowadays has
wider angle.
This is obvious winner for the LCD screens. It has
to be said that this is the LCDs main selling point.
They are so much smaller and lighter than CRT
screens that they are proving very popullar in
offices or anywhere where space is at a premium.
Take a look inside or local travel agent for example
and you will probably find that all of the screens in
there are LCD based.Because of the technology
used by CRT screens day cannot get any smaller.
The larger the screen goes the deeper the back has
to be in order for the CRT to work properly.
Contrast : The view interms of intensity
of the black and white color that most
light on a the LCD monitor. The higher
the number, the good the colors an
details that can be displayed in areas of
the dark on the screen.
you can always set the brightness or
the brightness of the screen by
pressing the keyboard
To improve color and details
in the show the dark areas on
the screen.
