To write an equation in slope intercept form, given the
graph:
1. Pick two points on the line and use them to find the slope,
which is your m value. You can do this using rise over run
or using the slope formula.
2. Locate the y-intercept on the graph. This is the point where
the line crosses the y-axis. (0, b)
3. Substitute m and b into the equation
Check your equation by picking a point on the line (not the y-
intercept) and substituting it in to see if it satisfies the equation
