Which is facing multiple challenges,
threatening the existence of our profession.
Librarians are bracing these problems
continuously.
They are finding solutions to these problems,
resulting in the shape of TRENDS.
Value of Academic Libraries
They have communicative value.
They must prove their value to the academic
enterprise.
There are compelling reasons, as per National
Knowledge Commission (NKC).
Libraries need better funding.
Unless better funding, we will be forced to the reality to
stop doing so.
Prof. C.N. Raos Comment on funding to the science
research is:
It is so little, marginal and comes late
It is also equally true with higher education and also
with Academic Libraries.
We must convert feeling of goodwill to articulate
libraries value to the academic community.

Information provider have apps for i-phone, i-
pad & androids.
Mobile inter-phases are now available for
OPACs.
OCLC, Elsevier, Thompson Reuters, etc. are
providing such categories of services.

information sources.
Libraries are usually not the first source.
Internet and Google offers no problem in
finding information sources.
So, we need to provide immediate, seem less
access to information.
New library has to be Just in Time model.
Therefore, We must

faculty through different channels such as :

Chat
Information management
Text references
Must also physically available at:
Academic departments
Student unions
Cafeterias
Use electronic resources by bring library to the
user at the forefront.
