and, if discovered, are
subject to punishment.

Conformist maybe aware of

towards it.
Causes of Deviance

The classes of deviance can be


classified as:

1. Biological theories
-It explains criminal behavior
by body type or somatotype.
According to this theory,
endomorphs who are short,
plump people and ectomorphs
who are thin and frail ones are
much less likely to become
juvenile delinquents than
mesomorphs who are
muscular, athletic people.

certain type of
abnormal personality
that, in turn, expresses
itself in antisocial acts

Two ways of
controlling deviance:
1. Informal Control
-It involves peoples

the norms of the
society.

pressure from peer
group.

hospitals, probation
and parole, and the law.

discourages people
from committing

rehabilitate those who
are punished.
