    Terminology and Description
    NBAP (Node B Application Protocol)
    NBAP is the protocol for signaling between
    UTRAN RNC and NodeB over Iub interface. The Iub interface can be
    either ATM-based or IP-based.
    In ATM-based Iub, NBAP is carried inside SAAL over ATM AAL2.
    In IP-based Iub, NBAP is carried inside SCTP(Stream Control Txn
    Protocol) over IP.
    Access Link Control Application Part (ALCAP)
    ALCAP is the protocol used for control plane of transport
    layer UMTS in charge of managing and multiplexing users
    into ATM AAL2 virtual connections.
