Our Art Project?
Through our teaching practicum, we implemented art lesson with the
Kg-2 student about music and movement for Five little monkeys
jumping on the bed song that supported math subject with counting
unite.

Learner:
We took a group of 7 children, five of them are girls and two (Desravins, 2017)
boys, aged between 4 to 5 years.
(Alaleeli &Al Ali, 2017).
The purpose of art lesson was:

Teach children certain movements.


Encourage children to respond to music and materials.
Encourage children to Imitate and create movement in response to music.
Teach children numbers names from 1 to 5.
Support children with counting skill and match numbers with the correct
quantity.

Which Methodology we Used?
Froebel Methodology

Why we chose Froebel


Methodology?
- Because, his methodology encourages children to interact and work with materials,
which assist children in figuring out how to use it and practice the LO.

- It helps children to understand their role as creative beings. For example, if he took
doctor role he will be able to comprehension the doctor behavior.

- Because, his methodology supports children independence by giving them the


freedom to explore their own ideas, through applying hands-on activities.
(Dyke, 2017 )
Connect the Lesson Activities with Froebel Methodology:
According to Froebel methodology, he considered that classroom should be a prepared environment.
(Spielgaben, 2013). The result of that we prepared and provide all materials and equipment for activities.

Examples:
Preforming five little monkeys song activity:

We used to give children instructions for applying the movements and how they will perform
the action happened in the video. Also, we give children instructions for centers activities.
According to Froebel methodology, it's believed that teacher should serve as a guide to
help lead a child to understand. (Spielgaben, 2013).

Example:
The instructions for sorting numbers activity:

You will have board table of numbers 1 to 5.


You will have box include numbers.
You have to sort and match numbers by stick in the right table.

(Alaleeli &Al Ali, 2017).


We encourage children to sing and do some movement because of the benefits. For example, it helps them
to develop their necessary skills such as physical skill, language, and mathematical skill.
According to Froebel classrooms, he believes movement is imperative for young
learners.(Spielgaben, 2013).

We support children to build their knowledge about numbers, through hand on-activity. According to
Froebel methodology believes that play is purposeful and not idle and that meaning is created
through hands-on play activities. (Spielgaben, 2013).
