BIRTH - SECOND GRADE TEACHER
The requirements of Birth - Second Grade Teacher is must complete two test
which are Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators and Praxis Content Area
Test. Have a bachelor's degree or graduate degree from an accredited
college or university and must Have completed three semester hours of
credit in a course of study regarding parental involvement and family
engagement. Have completed a program of preparation to teach such
pupils that is approved by the board; or 5.
ELEMENTARY SUBJECTS K-8
TEACHER
must complete two test which are Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators
and Praxis Content Area Test.
Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

have completed, pursuant to the provisions, a program of preparation for


teaching in the elementary grades which is approved by the Board.
Have 8 semester hours of credit in supervised student teaching in
kindergarten through eighth grade. 9 semester hours of credit in methods of
teaching elementary subjects which must include methods of teaching
elementary mathematics, methods of teaching elementary science, and
methods of teaching elementary social studies
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
To qualify to be a substitute teacher, you must Be a citizen of the United
States, or be a lawful permanent resident of the United States with a valid
Permanent Resident Card. And have 60 hours of college credits or an
associate degree or higher.
SPECIAL EDUCATION (EXCEPTIONAL
STUDENTS) TEACHER
must complete two test which are Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators
and Praxis Content Area Test.
must hold a bachelors degree or higher from a regionally accredited
postsecondary institution in a field of study for which the applicant will
provide classroom instruction
Applicant must have completed 3 semester hours of credit in a course of
study regarding parental involvement and family engagement
5 years of work experience in the field of study for which the applicant will
provide classroom instruction
must have at least two full-time equivalent years of teaching experience at
a regionally accredited postsecondary institution
READING SPECIALIST
To receive an endorsement as a reading specialist, you person must Hold a
masters degree. Have three years of verified experience as a teacher in
state-approved schools. hold a valid elementary, middle school or junior
high, secondary or special teaching license. Have completed at least
sixteen graduate semester credits in reading to include coursework.
ART SPECIALIST
To receive an endorsement to teach art, a person must Complete the
following required testing which is praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators,
Principles of Learning and Teaching K-6 or 7-12, Praxis Content Area Test.
Have a bachelors degree and Have completed three semester credits in a
course of study regarding parental involvement and family engagement,
and completed Twenty-two semester credits of professional education
LIBRARY/ MEDIA SPECIALIST
To receive an endorsement as a school library media specialist, you must
Have a valid elementary, middle school or junior high school, secondary or
special teaching license.
Have completed a program for school library media specialists which has
been approved by the Board or a regional accrediting association. Hold a
masters or more advanced degree in library science, with specialization in
school librarianship, from a school accredited by the American Library
Association.
Have completed twenty-one semester credits to include coursework
PHYSICAL EDUCATION SPECIALIST
must complete two test which are Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators
and Praxis Content Area Test. Thirty-six semester credits required for a major
in physical education
MUSIC SPECIALIST
Must complete Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators, Principles of
Learning and Teaching K-6 or 7-12,Praxis Content Area Test. Hold a
bachelors degree. Have completed three (semester credits in a course of
study regarding parental involvement and family engagement. Have
Twenty-two semester credits of professional education and Thirty-Six
semester credits in the principles of fine and applied arts.
EDUCATIONAL COMPUTER
STRATEGIST
To receive an endorsement to teach computer-based applications, a
person must Hold an elementary, middle school/junior high, secondary or
special license and have completed. A program which has been approved
by the Board for teaching computer-based applications. Twelve semester
credits
SCHOOL COUNSELOR
To receive an endorsement as a school counselor, you must pass the Praxis Core
Academic Skills for Educators and Praxis Content Area Test.
Complete three semester credits in a course of study regarding parental
involvement and family engagement. Must also hold a masters or more advanced
degree in school counseling. Must hold a specialty credential as a National Certified
School Counselor issued by the National Board for Certified Counselors.
Must hold a masters or more advanced degree with a major in counseling
conferred by a regionally accredited college or university and meet the additional
requirements noted below. Must hold a masters or more advanced degree
conferred by a regionally accredited college or university and have at least two
years of teaching experience or at least two years of school counseling experience
and meet the additional requirements noted below.
SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
To receive an endorsement as a school psychologist, you must. Complete
three semester credits in a course of study regarding parental involvement
and family engagement. Hold a certificate as a Nationally Certified School
Psychologist issued by the National School Psychology Certification System of
the National Association of School Psychologists. Hold a graduate degree
with preparation in school psychology. Have earned sixty semester graduate
credits from the required areas,
SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR
To receive an endorsement as an administrator of a school, you must Hold or
have a valid elementary, middle school/ junior high, secondary or special
teaching license, Hold a masters degree. Have completed three years of
teaching experience in accredited K-12 schools; and Have completed at
least twenty-four semester hours of graduate courses in the administration of
a school, including course work in each of the following areas
