Thought is a mental act that allows humans to
make sense of things in the world according to
their needs, attachments, goals, commitments,
plans, desires, etc.
Mind busy 60% time in dreaming, 30% time
in brooding (Anxiety moments) and 5-10%
time in thinking.
Human mind generates on an average 25000
to 50000 thoughts per day

shoulders Brain is one of
the finest computers on the
Earth.
But, like any other muscle in
our body, it needs to be
exercised to work its best.
That exercise is called
THINKING which means
Processing information.
Twelve Types of Thinking
Creative thinking The ability to conceive new
and innovative ideas by breaking from
established thoughts, theories, rules and
procedures. It involves putting thing together in a
new and imaginative ways. (Out of the box
thinking).
Analytical thinking The ability to separate the
whole into its basic parts in order to examine
their relationship. It involves thinking in a
logical, step by step manner to breakdown a larger
system of information into its parts.
Critical thinking The ability to exercise
careful evaluation or judgment in order to
determine the authenticity, accuracy, worth,
validity, or value of something. It involves
synthesis, evaluation, reflection and
reconstruction of the information.
Concrete thinking The ability to
comprehend and apply the factual knowledge
about the objects or specific items rather than
theoretical concepts. It involves to the point
thinking.
Abstract thinking The ability to use concepts
to make and understand generalizations then
relating or connecting them to others items,
events or experiences. It involves paying attention
to the hidden meanings for understanding theories
and possibilities.
Divergent thinking The ability to generate
ideas by exploring many possible solutions in an
effort to find one that works. It involves bringing
facts and data together from various sources and
then take decision applying logic and knowledge.
Convergent thinking The ability to examine
different perspectives of a topic in an organized
logical manner to find single answer. It involves
focusing a finite number of solutions rather than
multiple solutions.
Sequential thinking The ability to process the
information in orderly prescribed manner. It
involves step by step progression where a
response to a step must be obtained before
another step is taken.
Holistic thinking The ability to see the big
picture and recognize the interconnectedness of
various components that form the larger system. It
involves expanding thought process in multiple
directions and understanding a system by sensing
its pattern.
Traditional thinking Thinks about too many
aspects / things at a time . It involves analysis,
judgment and argument.
Parallel thinking Deals with only one aspect /
thing at a time. It involves constructive thinking,
creative thinking and designing a way forward.
Lateral thinking Thinking differently or
thinking out of the box.
