IMPROVING YEAR 2 PUPILS’ WRITING SKILL

IN SENTENCE BUILDING BY USING WORD
CARDS
 1.0 Introduction

 Preface
In this research, I am planning to study the
effectiveness of using word cards to help the year 2
pupils to build simple sentences. Hence, the purpose
of this research is to improve the Year 2 pupils’
ability in writing simple sentences through the use of
word cards. Moreover, this research is also aimed at
improving my teaching of writing simple sentences
to the Year 2 pupils.
 1.0 Introduction

 Reflection of previous T&L experiences

The choice of my topic is influenced by my last
practicum which is practicum phrase 1 where I had
to teach the Year 2 pupils of SJK(C) Tong Hua,
Bintangor. Even though I always prepared before my
lesson, I faced few problem in teaching my pupils to
write a full sentence without any mistake.
 2.0 Research Objective

The objectives of this research were to

 improve the Year 2 pupils’ ability in writing simple
sentences through the use of word cards.
 improve my teaching of writing simple sentences to
the Year 2 pupils by using the word cards.
 3.0 Research Question

This research was aimed to answer the following

research questions:
 How does using word cards improve my teaching of
writing skill among Year 2 pupils?
 How does using word cards improve my Year 2
pupils writing skill?
